The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a wonderful breed that I have been involved with for almost 20 years. They are very charming and quirky. Are they for everybody ? The answer is no. Everything you read about them makes it seem like they are the perfect dog. I always say they have the potential to be the perfect dog. They can be difficult to housebreak. They have a strong prey driveThey can be stubborn. They are terriers so they to have a spark .They should not start fights with other dogs but they should be able to defend themselves. They can be prone to allergies. Those are the negatives. The positives are they are very athletic. They are a wonderful companion dog. They like to be near you. If you allow them on the couch they will lie right next to you. If you don't allow them on the couch they will lie right near your feet.
